The science of the art of capoeira

Andy Cientista's 2010 Movie Showreel

This is my 2010 Movie Showreel showcasing the films I did while in Bangkok - Hanuman and Street Fighter II with Kristin Kreuk. I put this together to get the Skittles commercial streamed live on the Internet where I was buried alive in over 2 million sweets. Enjoy this and I hope it make you laugh.

Like many martial artists of my age, Jackie Chan and Bruce Lee are my original inspirations, capoeira came after Ninjitsu, Judo, High Diving and a smattering of other acrobatic/pugilistic disciplines. I have always dreamed of and trained towards the ultimate goal - being in a martial arts action movie. That's why, aged 33 I packed it all in and moved to Bangkok where I only knew one person - my old training partner Jon Foo. Jon introduced me to Anton Kalin, who got me a casting alongside Ron Smoorenburg and from there on in I was inside the Bangkok action movie scene, my dream come true.

Despite the Hollywood writer's strike of 2007 (which meant that I narrowly missed being thrown out of a helicopter into the sea) a few films went into production and I was lucky enough to be cast as a henchman hell bent on killing Chun-Li (Kristin Kreuk) in Street Fighter II, based on the video game that I had long since been dangerously addicted to. But not before I got beheaded in a hilarious, bloody cameo during Hanuman: The White Monkey Warrior by Marc Redmond the other hald of a hapless samurai duo.

A massive part of me wants to be back in Bangkok striving for the next bad guy role but I also love life in London surrounded by friends living in a circus warehouse, working in digital media and being pushed to the limits of endurance by my Mongolian circus trainer Boldo. Whatever, wherever rest assured I'll keep working on Capoeira Science, training and pushing the limits of my body and more than ever, my mind, so that I'm ready for the next opportunity.

In my next blog post I'll tell you what it was like to be buried under over 2 million sweets, but here's a hint - it was by FAR the hardest thing I've ever had to do.

p.s. for those of you who don't know, Cientista is my capoeira and stage name. My real name is Andy Eadie and by day I'm a digital professional specialising in SEO and Social Media currently working under contract at Hearst Digital UK and Other Creative.
p.p.s. that's not a bald spot its cranial scarification from 12 years of headspins on concrete without wearing a hat. If you're a capoeirista you'll probably get it too.

I tried to blow her brains

I tried to blow her brains repeatedly out but to be fair she didn't hold it against me. She was lovely. When she first walked into the room I was like shiiiit she is even more amazing looking in real life, gorgeous. I crapped myself but actually she put us all at our ease and was quite chatty on set. The girl is fit, make no mistake about it!
