This is your chance to give direction to the capoeira content of this site, or some general thoughts or feedback. Capoeira Science can only grow with your help.... Let's hear it!
Great job with the Folha Seca tutorial. I've been doing capoeira for 10 years now and though I can do backflips and other capoeira aerials, I never got to understand the folha seca move til now.
I saw your site a few years back, but you had not updated for awhile. I almost forgot about this site til I was searched in Youtube and saw you made recent uploads and went back to your site to see you made pretty good changes to it
You should have a social site page like Facebook, Twitter and MySpace page to give news that you have updated your site with new stuff. Rodamagzine.com always post articles and new stuff on their Facebook/MySpace/Twitter almost everyday, which is making themselves more popular website for capoeistras to go to these days. Those social sites are becoming more marketable these days
Keep up the good work. You need to market yourself and get more people to see your site. I remember a years ago a guy name Chimp made an awesome site, doing tutorials on capoeira moves, but moved on to do stunt work for movies/video games/etc. Glad that you came along to do the stuff now
haha yes old timer I remember chimp too! while he wasn't the inspiration, actually bilang was my inspiration, i learnt a lot, chimps capoeira moves really opened my eyes to things that I had never imagined. aaaahhh they got it so easy these days!! remember what it was like the first time u saw raiz!? magical. i was like wtf that is beautiful. and i still cant do it. bugger.
well, u should suggest away cos u've been around this internet capoeira thing for as long as I have.
meantime.. Twitter is definitely coming. my next phone will be an I-phone, sometime in the next month. I saw Roda magazine the other day, I really like it, I have similar plans.
Please put more videos like the folhra seca up. that one was amazing i absolutely loved it. Also i think it would be great if you put stuff for beginners like some floreiu combos some kicks like meia lua etc. i know their in the games you have posted but some people wont know one if they see one. also if you can break some games or moves in games down. i know its a real pain to do all this but you have a great site which would be even great if opened to a wider capoeira audience.
Hi Narvan, haha! You comment made me laugh! It's not a pain! Its bloody hard work thats all but its what Im here for. I have a big back log of stuff to be made into tutorials. It's just the time in doing all this which means that Capoeria Science is not already brimming with new video.
I got a lot of contract work on right now for other people. But thats going to clear up soon and you'll be seeing new stuff coming through in the next couple of weeks.
I particularly like your idea of breaking games down, its something that has always been talked about and if you think it would widen up the audience to more beginners, well that is exactly what I want to do!
Keep the suggestions coming mate. Glad u liked it so far.
Take care and Axe!

HI Ronaldo, thanks for stopping by. Ok lots of capoeira games coming up, I have a SERIOUS back-log of very interesting and diverse games to go up. Things are getting sorted bit by bit and games is definitely high on the list of content ;-)
How about some info on the different styles of capoeira explained and with a demonstration video of a roda: regional, miudinho, angola, contemporary... you could even go into different groups styles although that might be a bit much.
I reckon that a good example of each of the styles might be interesting and specially for beginners it might be very useful to help them decide what style they would like to try.
Good idea! I like it. Yes this would be very nice for beginners, and for everyone as the games would be good to watch anyhow. This goes on the to-do list. Thanks :-)
I'm working all next week full-tilt on a couple of big contracts... but the week after that you guys will be seeing some changes on the site. In the meantime chat away.

I would like to see a web based semi-interactive capoeira related(capoeira, maculele, samba de roda,afro,...) song database, with a simple non graphical ui just to have easy access with an alphabetical order. I would like to see the lyrics of the songs in portuguese with a simple explanation of the meaning of each song if possible, but not a translation at all( if you are a capoeirista you have to learn brasilian portuguese :P ). I would also like to have a link after the lyrics and the explanation were I could hear the song if it exists as a track and if there is somewere on the net in a good format and also other kind of information about the song like who wrote it, who sang it over the years, who and when he/she recorded it etc.
Now let me explain what I mean by saying semi-interactive. I mean that every member should have the ability to contribute by having the ability to enter lyrics of songs and other info in the database but this information will not be visible until quality control has been done by the webmaster or someone responsible and reliable for the job.
Also an other good idea would be for this site you got here ( or better yet web application :P ) to have a section with simple brasilian portuguese lessons.
Thats all for now.
Congratulations for this web application and greeting from Greece.
Firstly Farofa I would like to say welcome and thanks for that outstanding suggestion.
As you can see from the existant navigation, a songs database is indeed planned. I like the idea of it being semi-interactive/ user generated so I might take you up on that. There are so many beautiful songs out there and what more of a chance do we have of hearing all of them than this idea of yours!? The non-graphical element too.. I'm beginning to gravitate towards that myself - due to time constraints I didn't include pictures with the most recent draft of moves videos I put up and I'm beginning to think that the lists actually look better, more accessible in text form than with thumbnails (everyone - please feel free to comment on this). There's no reason I can't specify the fields you suggested, author, famous singers, recording date etc. and set them as non-compulsory as it might be hard or impossible in many cases to get all of that information. Lastly a link to it being played on the internet, no problem, especially if it's on any kind of public sharing site like YouTube, I should be able to make it as simple as entering a url and it can be watched right here alongside the lyrics and everything else.
You've got a very good handle on what's going on here. If you feel that you want to spec something out, go ahead, it will be gratefully received. I'll PM you my email address, even though PM is not yet a feature ;-) haha!
Oh yes re: the Portugues lessons, I'll speak to my friend who has just started up her own small business giving lessons. See what ideas she has...
Thanks again! Look forward to chatting more :-)
