Big apologies for no updates long long time. Living in a wooden house without air-con in downtown Bangkok. At night my room is 31c, my hard drive is smoked and I lost a few vital leads too. No updates until my situation is sorted. Until then keep posting on the capoeira forum if you have any questions or comments.

I've rented myself some cheap accomodation with everything I need to work near to Contra Mestre Vitor's house. The rodas there are awesome and obviously I've been filming the galera there bouncing on the old concrete trampoline (the floor). I'm here in Natal!! Yay Brazil!!!I came here to have more time to work on the site, work in general and be able to train more capoeira too. I've got a very special project coming up and I'm here to work on it with some extremely talented individuals. Meantime I had the great luck to live at Mestre Irani's house this last week. In return for his generosity and all his help I made him a website, check it out - CORDAO DE OURO NATAL. I filmed Mestre Irani's Roda last friday and needless to say it was top brass - I'll be putting a couple of games up here shortly!!

A couple of outrageously hard capoeira moves in Daniel's new CAPOEIRA VIDEO. I finally updated my University thesis and put it on the ACADEMIC page. Clips of Mestre Ponciano from Capoeira Science have been featured in the latest edition of the jetset show. Sorry updates have been slow - had some technical issues. At last after a month of waiting I bring you.... NARCELIO!! This is the guy I went to Fortaleza in order to film. Narcelio didn't dissapoint, not only showing me his training ground but taking me on a tour of the other most popular training haunts of Fortleza. Filming and working somewhere between a fly buzzing swamp and a motorway where most people extract water from make-shift wells in their garden wasn't the most relaxing of holidays but I was well received with typical Brazilian hospitality everywhere I went, regardless of that person's means. By the end I hope you'll all agree with me that it was worth it.. Over the coming weeks 7 hrs of footage will be steadily revealed - Roda clips, Kids clips, kick-ass capoeira females, acrobatics from the favela(s) in the rain, sun, mud and sand and of course lots and lots of movements! The sun took it's toll and some pixelation is here to stay, other than that the trip went perfectly. More soon.

Got ok for time off from boss!!! - in 2 weeks time I will be travelling to the North-East of Brazil to film more capoeira video. Off the beaten track and into the parched scrub-land of the cangaco and the sertao. I'm on the trail of a capoeirista of notorious acrobatic skill. Barefoot on hard concrete - double backs in the Roda and 'bate-volta' - known in gymnastic terms as 'rebounds' - no sprung floor here boys, lucky if there's a floor at all! I'm keeping his identity a secret for now but keep checking this blog for updates - inneresting tings.... coming your way soon!
